There was a recent writing challenge proposed by Joe Konrath, who has done more for independent publishing than just about anyone. The challenge: you have eight hours to write a short story, create a cover, format, and upload it. Three hours of writing, an hour for the other stuff, and we have
White Elephant, a ten-page short story.
I wrote the first 100 words of this a year ago. A challenge like this worked well for me to finish this story, and it turned out pretty well. It's on Amazon
